A Child is Born

All across the land dawns a brand new day.

A ray of hope flickers in the sky,
A tiny star lights up way up high,
All across the land dawns a brand new morn,
This comes to pass when a child is born.

The hope that comes at Christmas comes from Jesus, that all across the earth a new morn will dawn, enabling us to have hope for the earth.

A silent wish sails the seven seas,
The winds of change whisper in the trees,
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn,
This comes to pass, when a child is born.

The winds of change. It can be tough to think of how much Jesus actually changed the world, but there’s no doubting that he did. He challenged the beliefs of the Jewish leaders, he healed the sick, helped the poor, dined with the outcasts. He showed a new way of living life.

A rosy dawn settles all around,
You got the feel you’re on solid ground,
For a spell or two no-one seems forlorn,
This comes to pass when a child is born.

It’s all a dream, an illusion now,
It must come soon, sometime soon somehow,
All across the land dawns a brand new morn,
This comes to pass, when a child is born.

The ray of hope, the brand new morn, the winds of change, the walls of doubt crumbling down, the feeling that you’re on solid ground and that no-one seems forlorn. It may seem like an impossible dream, but it’s all possible, and it came to pass through the birth of Jesus Christ.

  1. I have always been a bit annoyed at this ‘carol’ which seems to be still waiting for the messiah to be born. Yet each child which is born into this world brings hope.
