SASB2: All Creatures of our God and King

Lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia

A song of praise written by St Francis of Assisi.

All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Alleluia, alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam:

O praise him, O praise him,
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The first three verses here are praise and proclamation about the nature of God. First we have the call to all creatures and to praise God with alleluias, and then some words about the nature of God.

Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship him in humbleness,
O praise him, alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One

As the creator blesses us, so we bless the Creator by worshipping him in humbleness, by praising the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

And finally, whenever I hear this song, I can’t stop but think of this clip from Mr Bean.
